Patch 1.3 – Allies

So it’s on its way…

The next Patch is called Allies and it is looking interesting. It will  not be as large as Patch 1.2 was, but still has some major features that we will all appreciate. So what is in this patch? Well let’s have a look…

 Looking For Group.

Yes, that’s right. Looking For Group is coming in the next patch. I believe that at this point the Looking For Group system will not be cross server, as Bioware want to try to keep Server Community going the way it is right now. This LFG tool that is coming looks to be straight forward in its design. You will choose the role(s) that you are capable and willing to fill in a group, then select the type of game experience that you are after (e.g. Flashpoint) then select which ones of that type you want to queue for (e.g. Kaon Under Siege).

Server Transfers.

Is your server population a little on the low side? Well Server Transfers are coming. My understanding of how this will work is that characters on certain servers (most likely the lowest population servers) will be given the option of transferring to another server. The destination server(s) will likely be limited to a select few of Biowares’ choosing. Also, at this point I cannot find anything saying how much the transfers will cost, so I am assuming that this initial transfer phase will be free. Don’t quote me on that though….

The Legacy Perks.

The “Coming Soon” Tab of the Legacy Panel that I spoke about in my last post will all be implemented in game, which will be nice. These are mainly quality of life changes and I am expecting many of them to be ridiculously expensive so you might have to pick and choose between which ones you want at first.

Adaptive Gear.

The Social Armor Sets will now scale to your character. This means that if you are a Consular, the Armor will be “Light” and if you are a Warrior that same Armor will be “Heavy”. This means that any player an achieve the Slave Girl or Sand People look if they want to, regardless of their Class.

Augment Tables.

So Augment Slots are something of an oddity. I never understood how this was supposed to be balanced. The fact that they are in the game would indicate to me that all top end players (PvP or PvE) would want to have gear with these slots. This would therefore make me assume that Operations would be balanced around all players having Augmented gear. Apparently this is not currently the case. As of Patch 1.3, players will be able to add Augment Slots to gear via an Augment Table. This will require a special “Kit” that is made by crafters, which will mean that it will not detract from the crafting community, and this should make Augments the standard (in theory).

HK-51…?

So…. A while back one of the large database sites found out that HK-51 was coming in Patch 1.3. None of the official interviews or press releases that I have found so far mention him at all. I am hoping that this is purely because it is supposed to be a surprise. We can only wait and see I guess, but if he is in there for 1.3, then that would have to be my highlight of this coming patch.

Here is a video of James Ohlen discussing Patch 1.3 – Allies.
